I pay tribute to two of my all-time favorite Paramount movies, “The Godfather” and “Breakfast at Tiffany’s”. Both movies dazzle with their concentration on the color black, which resembles elegance and power, but also the existential search for the meaning of life as the French philosophers Jean-Paul Satre and Albert Camus state it.
Both movies go behind the facades of glitter, power and beauty ending with the stripping down to the souls of the main protagonists. Furthermore, the elements of real roses push on the reality of the shading of beauty and power. With the use of gold-plated backgrounds I go back to the paintings of the European Middle Ages, where gold symbolized eternity.
To me both movies are of eternal value.
