Art with Purpose:
Art can see, feel, and detect what science can’t, what is unmeasurable. It takes a heart, body, and soul of an artist, that is naturally extra sensitive, to detect things the world
miss. Therefore, artists have a deep mission. I was able to tell using seismic microphones which architectural compositions in general produced more of the harmful vibrations,
infra sound, than others, but with the use of myself and the choreographer, we were able to detect how details in each composition due to forms, lines, etc., influence differently or reduce the sensation. In another way, the impact of architectural compositions has
been measured through the potentials shaped or missing in children growing in this area,
in reference to their cognitive stage, through their abstract paintings and drawings, using
Torrance Figural test. Accordingly, all this art can be used to design better places for di-
fferent users.
Art is a tool as I said to explore and detect. I use art also to display and convey these emotions and findings for the world to see, whether through a performance, sound/music piece or an art piece, or altogether. The architecture itself shaped through such journeys using all art forms, I believe delivers deeper messages directly and indirectly.
Future Visions:
Feeling is a potential that you can only reach through touch, smell, listening and seeing. It does not happen behind screens, or using a software to create with keywords ‘creative 3D models’. There are a lot of potentials, abilities, emotions, character progress that happens through the creative process that must include all your sensors, that can not be mechanized. It is what makes us human, and I am afraid by doing this what we are losing
on the way is far more than what we are gaining. I use technology but there are certain
stages in the creativity process in which technology can be used. Creativity is a process that goes through four stages, and results in purposeful, imaginative, original and of value outputs. All together! With less engagement of sensors, the outcomes will lose some
of these dimensions, hence cannot be defined as creative. Let alone the urge now to push
AI in early education stages where it’s the critical stage of developing creativity, sensors, identity, emotions, and being human. Creativity and humanity are in danger! My future
and current plans is fighting back through my artwork, my research, my courses, presentations, conferences, and architecture work to spread awareness and protect creativity, feelings, connections and staying human. A message I plan to fight relentlessly to deliver, a mission!
